Name: Zunder's Revenge The Geruder and Zatton, as the observant might note, share feet and legs -- no doubt a biproduct of early Empire cost-cutting efforts. This and their relative obscurity in the Zoids battling world led a scientist to ponder if there were profits to be made in designing a weapon that might make someone want to use them. Ignoring her own circular reasoning, she pondered the shortcomings of both Zoids. There was ranged weaponry, but that was already covered by cheap, mass-produced miniguns and missile packs, and thus difficult for a small company to muscle in on. There was melee, but Geruder and Zatton were not known for being heavy and quick. So, why not make something that'd help compensate for their lack of weight and speed in terms of dealing damage? The answer came, as it often does, with electricity. The Zunder's Revenge operates off a set of internal generators, which charge up enough energy for one hit -- be it from multiple feet or one -- every two seconds. Upon impact, they send out a jolt of power, more helping to burn and crack armor at the point of impact than delivering a lag-inducing shock (though should they happen to strike exposed internals, they will indeed have that effect). In other words, they make the kicking Zoid's feet hurt a lot more than they would normally. Imagine being kicked by a Zoid twice the weight with a bit of bonus armor crisping, and you have a good idea. Uncharged, the feet will act like their normal hardened alloy selves. Please note, also, that kicking with a single foot will not give double the power, due to safety mechanisms preventing overcharge. There's increased kickback to match, so the Geruder/Zatton using this weapon should be relatively stable while doing so, lest it be tossed back in awkward ways. Then again, neither are known for their advanced acrobatic ability, so this is not as difficult as it could be. |
