Name: Vindicator Cannon Set
Cost: $13,000
Weight: 4 tons
Function:Direct Firepower
Mounts On: Death Cat, Hammerhead, Iron Kong, Leogator, Revenge Trap, Shield Liger
Mount Location:
--The Death Cat loses the Super Gravity Bullet to mount the VCS and its turret. It can rotate 360 degrees horizontally and 45 degrees vertically.
--On the Hammerhead, the VCS takes the place of the AZ Torpedo Pods. The cannons can pivot 45 degrees up or down. They cannot be used underwater.
--The Iron Kong has the vacant right shoulder occupied by the VCS and turret. The turret can rotate 90 degrees up but only 30 degrees down as well as in a 180 degree arc around the right side. It cannot be used with the Hybrid Vulcan.
--On the Leogator, the Vindicator cannons mount to either side of the AZ90mm Laser Cannon (one pair to each side) and turn and pivot along with it. They cannot be used underwater.
--The Revenge Trap mounts the cannons in different places; one set of cannons replaces the AZ120mm Mortar, the other replaces the rocket pod on the back. The cannons on the tail move with the tail, the ones on the back and pivot 45 degrees to either side and 30 degrees up.
--For the Shield Liger, the VCS mounts to the two pylons between the front and rear legs facing forwards though they can move 30 degrees up or down and 180 degrees horizontally.
In Brief: Two sets of twin-linked 45mm Beam Cannons used for direct offensive attacks.

Weapon Type: 45mm Beam Cannon
Ammunition: Pulsed Energy
Rate of Fire: 6 shots per second

Description: The Vindicator Cannon Set was designed by a engineer, just trying to chip in his two cents. It was made by a small, backwoods engineering firm who saw a need for some zoids to get a little variety in their weapon systems, a little bit of a punch in their weapons. It was designed to add direct firepower with a large firing arc with little or no drawback to the zoid mounting it. Unfortunately, that goal came with a price, mainly that the cannons themselves couldn't be very large or rapidly firing due to power constraints (and ammo feeds were right out). The engineers managed to ameliorate this somewhat by embracing the concept of smaller cannons and mounting them in pairs.

What resulted they termed the Vindicator Cannon Set, or VCS. It's basically an old dog with a new trick or two. There's nothing special about the cannons themselves, each set of twin-linked cannons pumps out 6 shots per second (or 12 shots per second from both) and they're of a moderate calibur; larger than some weapons, smaller than others.

What is special about these cannons is two-fold. Firstly, they're specifically mounted in such a way as to give the maximum field of fire around a given zoid as detailed above. The other special part about them is that, while there are four cannons in total, they're networked into pairs, hence the 'twin-linked' part of their nature. It means, in essence, that each pair of cannons is slaved to a single targeting system. The result is that the Vindicator Cannon System has above average accuracy, roughly 15% better than you'd otherwise expect.

The best part is that this part is ejectable and can be swapped out mid-battle with a short trip to one's transport, allowing for a great deal of versatility.
