In Brief: The Storm Gatling Gun is an alternative to the Hybrid Vulcan Cannon, designed primarily to shred heavy armor.

Description: The Hybrid Vulcan Cannon was the monumental weapon of the Dark Horn, falling into fame shortly after its creation. Many people envied it, most feared it, and everyone knew it. Someone, whose name was lost to time, thought it was a good idea to design and create an alternative for the Hybrid Vulcan, to take against those pesky heavily armored foes. Whether he was insane, ingenious, or both (they often coinside), several plans were drawn up. All but one of his plans, the Storm Gatling Gun, got by, and was further improved upon. Soon after, it was created, and brought into Sanctioned Battles, and soon after, war.

The Storm Gatling Gun is more than a standard AZ50mm Gatling Gun, combining the ancient Imperial Hybrid Vulcan technology with Republic inroads into explosive anti-Zoid rounds. The rounds it uses, while standard-looking enough, are anything but. Each round has a small explosive charge, and while not enough to cause damage on its own, there are 15 of them every second. The bullet, along with its AZ nature, are designed to pierce a Zoid’s armor, bury itself inside, and explode. The resulting effect is great for ripping apart that hard-to-break armor, and then mangling internals. The Storm Gatling Gun was given its name, because due to its inaccuracy at range (what can you expect from a Gatling?), all the explosions tend to kick up small sandstorms and the like.

While the creator was sure it should mount to the Dark Horn, and then the Red Horn, he wasn’t sure what else. Then, he settled on mounting it to all those who mount the Hybrid Vulcan, since it was an alternative to said Vulcan. The Dark Horn mounts it directly next to the other Hybrid, on the same mount. The Red Horn, being related to the Dark Horn, mounts two of these, one on each side of its Artillery Cannon. Both Horn’s have 360 degrees of rotation horizontally, but none vertically. The Iron Kong, a big and strong Zoid, mounts one too, to the right shoulder. The Iron Kong only has 10 degrees of motion side to side, but none up or down, with the Storm Gatling Gun. The Zaber Fang has one smack dab on its back, creating something of a devious look about it. However, the added weight and stress forces the Zaber into moving 30kph slower, along with a corresponding performance loss, but it can rotate 20 degrees side to side, lacking in any tilt. The Great Sabre, the Zaber Fang’s big brother, mounts two directly on the front shoulders. The weight they add, along with balance issues, gives the Great Sabre a 30kph drop in speed and a corresponding drop in performance for each Storm Gatling mounted. The Sabre, however, isn’t graced with any rotational ability.

Alike to the Hybrid Vulcan Cannon, the Storm Gatling Gun lacks armor. However, it is a bit smaller in height, than the Hybrid Vulcan, so hitting it, while no where near impossible, can prove a little difficult.

Now, thanks to the Just Zoids parts line, you can get your Storm Gatling Unit for only $22,000. A high sticker price, you might say, but can you put a price on victory?
