Name: Lock Assist Description: There are a few things on Zi that are constant. The sun will always rise in the morning, Ligers will always be deemed cheap, and the EP Corporation will always look for more profit. The EP Corporation says they're just providing a service, of course. At first glance, the EP Corporation seems to have just about everything covered. Defense and offense, stealth and counterstealth, speed boosts of all natures. But one thing they had never looked at was missiles. Many zoids use them, why not give them a bonus? The service-providing EP Corporation asked themselves this very question, and couldn't come up with an answer. So, they did the simple thing: gave those missiles a bonus. The Lock Assist is an increadibly straightforward part: it cuts the lock time of any and all missiles (except Tactical Missiles) by 1/3. The standard missile will lock in two seconds; multipurpose missiles will lock in three. Fast-locking missiles like the Sidewinder can now lock on ludicriously quickly. This is usually the part where the catch in introduced, but there is actually suprisingly little in the way of a catch here. Like all EP parts, it cannot be mounted with any other EP part. Recognizing that many zoids sported missiles as only a modification, the EP Corporation's engineers didn't even make the part permanent- wouldn't want to spoil their profits, now would they? Oh, and the ability to provide quality services was a factor too. |
