On a stormy night three and a half years ago, a group of ZBC soldiers in Delphoi were sent to investigate a mighty battle between Zoids previously unseen. According to residents in nearby towns, the had begun with a massive flash of light from outside of town, one that lead many of them to believe the world had truly ended. The light hung for several seconds in the air before vanishing. People pulled from sleep from sheer brightness went to investigate. Three days later someone saw fit to call the military. When the soldiers arrived the battle was ongoing. It continued for three more days, neither zoid making headway and both zoids seeming to repair themselves at will. The moment the military fired on the battle field, they simply froze and fell into a command system freeze, something that could not be explained.
An international team of scientists began an investigation of these zoids and while the Diablo Tiger gave them trouble what they found was astounding. In the cockpit of either zoid was a long dead pilot. Both zoids had power outputs beyond Zi's current capabilities to match, simply put their cores seemed to be twice as strong as anything else that could be produced and indeed stronger even than the fabled Ultimate Xs.
The Diablo Tiger Imitate is armored to match the Geno Saurer and as maneuverable as the Baron. To top it all off it is a fairly damned strong zoid as well, at least as strong as the Death Cat and has its share of stopping power and staying power. While nowhere near matching the original Diablo Tiger (now mysteriously missing from the research lab it was kept in) the Imitate is a terrifying beastie.
Weapons:
Reduced Cyber Metal Cannon:
The Cyber Metal Cannon is truly a wonder, if oddly named. Truly. Mounted to the back of the Diablo Tiger, this gun can rotate 90 degrees horizontally and 20 vertically. Far more interesting than that is the weapon itself. It is said that this cannon took three years to figure out, and once it was the mystery of the Cyber Claws and Fangs came unraveled. The Cyber Metal Cannon fires a collection of energy that is literally charged with digital information. Much as one might send information or a signal through a laser. While it fires what looks like a glowing crimson 50mm beam, it hits like a heavy solid slug of twice the size. Here's the bad news? Because of the power consumption on the core and the apparent natural strength of the original Diablo Tiger's core... this weapon is cut in half from the original zoid.
An area that takes repeated hits from this weapon will slowly begin to lag, not unlike those who experience the defense cannons on the Dark Spiner. It is worthy to note that if your exposed internals that take a significant direct hit from this gun it can and likely will literally overload the wires and your core. It will not permanently harm the core but it will disorient it, causing severe lag and fry all local wiring. More than one direct hit to internals almost guarantees a CSF.
Reduced Cyber Claws and Fangs:
Charged with the same energy as the Reduced Cyber Metal Cannon, the powerful claws and fangs of the Diablo Tiger Imitate are a force to be reckoned with. Employing the Cyber energy, the Diablo Tiger can charge his fangs and claws to 25% stronger than the Shadow Fox's strike laser claws. Again, this power is halved from the Diablo Tiger. The core within the real thing is simply far stronger than anything that can be bred or produced on Zi... right now. When charged the claws will have the same effect as the reduced cyber metal cannon in regards to inducing lag.
The effect is very similar to the Geno Saurer's claws in that it requires prolongued contact to really matter.
Special Abilities:
Opitcal Camouflage:
This is rather simple camouflage, and frankly it's just as good as that found on the Shadow Fox. Moreover like the fox, it has no single point of weakness that could be destroyed to bring it down.
Chaff Dispensers:
Twice per battle the Diablo Tiger Imitate can fire chafing flares which will redirect any missiles in the air that have been locked using a standard locking process. It tends to have a 100% success rate on those. The unfortunate thing is that it takes a whole round to reload these dispensers. It does not work on the tactical missiles of the Iron Kong and it does not do anything for unguided or dumbfired explosives.
Frontal E-shield:
With the strength of a standard E-shield—the stock shield was simply too complicated for the development team to understand before the original Diablo Tiger vanished—this is a standard frontal E-shield as found on the Blade Liger.
