On a stormy night three and a half years ago, a group of ZBC soldiers in Delphoi were sent to investigate a mighty battle between Zoids previously unseen. According to residents in nearby towns, the had begun with a massive flash of light from outside of town, one that lead many of them to believe the world had truly ended. The light hung for several seconds in the air before vanishing. People pulled from sleep from sheer brightness went to investigate. Three days later someone saw fit to call the military. When the soldiers arrived the battle was ongoing. It continued for three more days, neither zoid making headway and both zoids seeming to repair themselves at will. The moment the military fired on the battle field, they simply froze and fell into a command system freeze, something that could not be explained.
An international team of scientists began an investigation of these zoids and while the Diablo Tiger gave them trouble what they found was astounding. In the cockpit of either zoid was a long dead pilot. Both zoids had power outputs beyond Zi's current capabilities to match, simply put their cores seemed to be twice as strong as anything else that could be produced and indeed stronger even than the fabled Ultimate Xs. However, other than the strong core, the Cyclops' technology almost seems... old.
Like its perpetual opponent, the Cyclops Imitate has had to take some losses compared to the original. The mortar cannon is roughly half as large as the original weapon which was not, in fact, a mortar at all. In addition, in order to operate with a contemporary core, its armor is significantly less than the original Cyclops. About as maneuverable as a Dark Horn and not as well armed, this zoid is nonetheless blessed with armor somewhere between the Liger Zero and the Gunblaster. In short, this is one of the strongest armored mass-produced zoids out there.
It is worth adding, however, that the original Cyclops has, like the original Diablo Tiger, vanished at roughly the same time from where it was kept in captivity despite being on a completely different continent. The distance was a precaution added to keep the two zoids from causing massive collateral damage in their intent to fight and find each other. As far as physical strength, the Gordos is a good comparison. In other reports of these two zoids, the Cyclops had a forked horn, something which was recreated as a swappable weapon.
Weapons:
Hardened Alloy Hooves:
In the arsenal of almost archaic weaponry on this heavily armored zoid is a set of four hardened alloy hooves made for cracking armor and crushing foes. And that's really all there is to say about. Cracking and crushing are very effective methods of dealing damage.
Hardened Alloy Long Spear Horn:
Protruding from its face with no apparent negative effect on the neck is a 5 meter long, sharp tipped spear where a horn should be. Much like the Horn family's crasher horn, use of this thing can lead to lifting and throwing a zoid with the right force behind it. Not to mention the armor damage. It can be switched out mid battle with the Hardened Alloy Forked Horn as long as the mount is still in tact.
Hardened Alloy Forked Defense Horn:
The Spear Horn can be replaced by an odd little device. Far shorter, this forked horn breaks very close to the mount into a pair of wide but flat hardened alloy prods. The fact of the matter is that these seem to be more about the impact and less about range or piercing. That being said, lowering your head and slamming into someone with this thing isn't useless. Actually it tends to do a decent amount of bludgeoning damage and in a zoid to rival the Dark Thrasher in armor, bludgeoning damage is an inevitable part of melee combat.
Long Range Heavy Mortar Cannon:
The original Cyclops had an odd weapon on its back. It seemed to fire strange spheres that would explode... whenever they wanted. Without the ability to understand the ammunition and how they worked, the Imitate was fitted with a Mortar Cannon similar to the Cannon Tortoise's. With a maximum range well over two kilometers, this Mortar Cannon can pivot up to 90 degrees upwards to create a parabolic arc for the rounds it fires. (The mortar has no minimum, but fire with caution unless you’re planning to hit yourself.) And, once those rounds hit, they create a giant 40 meter explosion, more than capable of blowing apart smaller Zoids. Most zoids with weaker armor than the Blade Liger can stand two DIRECT hits at best before they truly are rendered unable to function. This fires once every three seconds. The outer range of the explosion is enough to fling most lighter zoids off their feet, not to mention back aways.
