Character Description:
Gero stands a rather unassuming 5’11”, the average height for what would appear to be an average man. His eyes are blue, his nose straight, with no breaks visible to serve as a marker. His face too, flirts with the average, going perhaps a tad above it - enough to warrant a second look and a thought. His dirty blonde hair flirts just barely with the ridge of his eyes, the blonde hairs accenting the baby blues. His body is lean with athletic muscle, not the sculpted biceps of a lifter, but rather the lean, smooth muscles of a runner or jumper. His navy blue jacket fits seamlessly over his white shirt, made of what would seem to be a very light fabric, the way a small breeze sends it rippling. Black cargo pants cover below his waist, with a multitude of pockets for hiding all sorts of lovely items. His shoes happen to be the only thing remarkable - a rather expensive brand, Zeebox. Well…it would be the only remarkable thing, if it weren’t for the honest-to-whichever-god-you-please spear strapped to his back. Also, holstered and hidden upon his waist happen to be a pair of scoped pistols, the most powerful he could get legally, as to not attract notice, for his “job”.

History:
While most comics, novels and other similar pieces of work would have you believe everyone on Gero’s line of work has some hidden deep morals, some overreaching goal, some inner-hero, this isn’t quite the case with the person in question. No, Gero just liked getting paid. He didn’t have any stereotypical origins either - no orphan due to war, not a rich boy who fell prey to the clutches of the evils of society. No, instead he came from a rather well but down to Zi family, with an average childhood, and for the most part, an average life in general. Perhaps the only odd thing about the boy was the obsession for a rather unique martial art in today’s age - the art of fighting with a spear. While many would see this as an outdated art, the boy find solace in the basic principles of the art, as well as what it taught him - such things as keeping opponents at a distance, striking first, as well as other similar ideals. Time passed, Gero grew, as did his talent. So, keeping with the principles of the art, what did his sensei teach him when he mastered the spear? Guns. Lots of Guns. Zoids were included, of course, considering the times…and soon, Gero grew in that field as well.
It was on one of Gero’s last days with his sensei that his first real battle involving zoids occurred. They had been training in the local plains, not far from the city, but far enough for bandits to take notice. Gero’s sensei and he had been polishing up the youth’s techniques for registration as a Zoid Pilot, and the gunfire had attracted the attention of some roaming bandits. Seeing the rather well modified Konig and Stealth Dragon, as well as the fact they were each completely immersed in the training, the bandits took the opportunity to try and add new zoids to their roster. From the mountains, they rapidly swarmed the unprepared Dragon from the rear, mortars from a pair of Cannon Tortoises hitting home. As one would imagine, the Dragon was quickly overpowered - the Konig, on the other hand, had enough time to realize what was going on. As the dragon’s cockpit was shattered, his Sensei flying from it, bloodied, the bandits turned to the Konig and Gero…only to have their cockpits blown apart by sniper shells from the zoid. Gero didn’t hesitate in his pattern, rapidly killing each bandit, one after another. After all, it was self-defense. The Konig moved rapidly, taking down each of the bandits with relative ease with shots most men spend their lives trying to avoid. After the last shot rang out from the barrel of the sniper rifles, Gero was at his Sensei’s side, finding him bruised and battered, with a few cuts here and there, but otherwise fine. When they both returned to town (minus the dragon, as well as the other zoids, which a team recovered later), Gero learned a bounty had been placed on each - promptly receiving a rather large sum of money for his efforts. Rather taken aback at how easy it had become for simply taking care of a few bandits, Gero’s mind had swayed to the role of a Merc, a free-roaming (and rich) life. With his skills granted to him from his sensei’s training, as well as the zoids they had practiced in as parting gifts, Gero set out into Zi. Now his story is just beginning…or, perhaps it started long ago, when no one was looking?
