Character Description:
Alex stands at roughly five feet and eleven inches, has hazel eyes, lightly tanned skin, and his brown hair is so curly that it would turn into an afro if he let it grow, so he keeps it trimmed short. His beard and mustache are full of bald patches so he keeps his face cleanly shaved. Alex is always expecting to get his hands dirty, so he always wears a pair of tough blue jeans that have an extra layer of denim on the front of the jeans, a long sleeve denim shirt, a pair of heavy duty gloves tucked into the back of his belt, and steel toed boots. He'll wear that get up even when it's over a hundred degrees out.
Alex also carries an automatic pistol, a modern version of the K-73, on his right hip with two extra clips on his left hip. However he removes it when he goes into a heavily populated area because he doesn't want anyone to be afraid of him. He also normally wears a backpack that is full of tools for repairing zoids, while the side compartments of the back pack are full of peanut butter flavored food rations and a canteen of water.
History:
If you had told a childhood Alex that he was going to be a zoid pilot someday, he would've either stared at you like you had just said the stupidest thing in the world, or he would've fainted out right. Raised by a family of pacifists, Alex was raised to always find a peaceful solution to every problem he's faced with and that violence was never an option. As a result, when ever bullies made fun of him when he was going to school, he made no move to defend himself.
Knowing that they could get away with it, every single classmate that Alex had while growing up teased and harassed Alex to the point that Alex had become extremely depressed and he was labeled suicidal by the school councilors. All that depression combined with a minor psychological disorder called aspersers has made it very difficult for Alex to make friends while he was a kid, and down right impossible for him to find a girlfriend, so he's still hasn't gotten his first kiss yet.
It wasn't until Alex was 18 years old that he finally started to let go of being such a passive person. While he was traveling with his family between towns with a convoy that was being escorted by a single command wolf, a small gang of criminals piloting Guysacks suddenly attacked the convoy for their goods. Alex watched in horror as every single member of his family died because they refused to fight or defend themselves, thinking that if they didn't fight back, their attackers would stop attacking...but all that did was make them cattle for the slaughter.
Alex only survived because all of his depression turned into anger at that moment. He ran back to the downed command wolf, got into the cockpit, pushed aside the dead pilot, and managed to figure out how to use the back mounted gun to shoot at the Guysacks, forcing them away. It was only then that Alex realized that he might have the talent to be a zoid pilot.
However, he couldn't abandon his life long beliefs of being passives completely, and could only bring himself to becoming a zoid mechanic instead of a pilot...and quickly earned himself the nickname 'Wolf' because of his skill with repairing zoids in the wolf and fox family. At the age of 21, he was given some minor training in piloting zoids so he could test drive newly repaired zoids to make sure they were running correctly before giving them back to their pilots...and Alex quickly fell in love with the feeling of controlling such a large machine. That love combined with his skill at repairing zoids led to him to attempting to design a brand new zoid based on his favorite animal, the horse...but he just couldn't figure out how to get a prototype built when he didn't have the money to get it made, so he put the plans aside for now and went back to work.
It wasn't until the day after his 23rd birthday that Alex finally did away with his passive ways once and for all. He was delivering a Command Wolf with a new duel minigun equipped on it when he ran into the same Guysack gang that had killed his family, and was forced to jump into the Command Wolf and fight them off...and came out victorious by luring the Guysacks back to a area where there was nothing but rock under foot so they couldn't burrow, then used the electron bite fangs to take off the ends of their tails so they couldn't shoot at him.
Realizing that he had the skill to be a true zoid pilot, Alex made up his mind and became a pilot. When he announced this to his fellow co-workers and his boss, Alex was taken by surprise when they seemed overjoyed about his choice, and had been thinking that even though he was a great mechanic his true calling was to be a zoid pilot. They were all sorry to see Alex leave, but his co-workers all pitched in to help Alex start out and bought the strongest zoid they could get their hands on... a Storm Sworder. Alex's boss chose to give Alex one of his Gustavs so Alex would be able to transport the Storm Sworder to the nearby lake to test it out.
When Alex got there, he ran into one of his top clients, a wealthy businessman that was also a zoid collector, and whom preferred to have Alex be the one to maintain his zoids over the other mechanics in the shop. The businessman was glad to see Alex, and asked him what he was doing with a Storm Sworder. When Alex told him about becoming a zoid pilot, the businessman chose to give Alex another zoid so he wouldn't be stuck in the air, and handed over the strongest zoid that he had with him at that moment, a Shadow Fox that was painted white with sky blue trim. While Alex would've preferred a command wolf, he was more then happy to have a zoid that was similar to command wolf. The businessman also gave Alex a 'little' extra cash so he would be able to maintain the zoids.
